Val Munduruku

A Brazilian Indigenous activist from the Munduruku people, Valdineia Sauré—known as Val Munduruku—is from Jacareacanga, in the state of Pará. The first in her community to access higher education, she earned in 2020 a degree in public administration and regional development from the Federal University of Western Pará (UFOPA).

Val Munduruku is also a member of Engajamundo, a youth network committed to climate action, and uses social media to raise public awareness of Indigenous struggles. She appears in the film Amazonia, the Heart of Mother Earth, where she testifies to her commitment to preserving the Amazon and the rights of Indigenous Peoples.
