Jojo Mehta
Co-founder and Executive Director of Stop Ecocide International, Jojo Mehta is one of the leading figures in the movement to recognize ecocide as an international crime. A graduate of the University of Oxford and the University of London, she coordinates the panel of legal experts behind the first independent definition of this crime, and speaks regularly in international forums.
Engaging with around forty countries, she advocates for embedding the protection of nature in international criminal law. Her commitment to environmental justice has led her to join the project Amazonia, the Heart of Mother Earth as an ambassador. She also appears in the film of the same name, with which her organization is a partner.
