Planète Amazone

Founded in 2012, Planète Amazone is a French non-profit organization recognized for its commitment to Indigenous Peoples and the preservation of primary forests. As the lead organization behind the Amazonia, the Heart of Mother Earth project, it oversees the project’s overall coordination, governance, and the executive production of the film of the same name.

Planète Amazone initiated the impact project, which it develops as a lever for education, international mobilization, and advocacy for the recognition of Indigenous Peoples’ rights and the protection of ecosystems. As the first French NGO to advocate for the recognition of ecocide as a crime, it has also called on European decision-makers to actively support the demarcation and effective protection of Indigenous lands in Brazil.

Active at major international summits, Planète Amazone also works toward a sustainable transformation of educational systems, by promoting the inclusion of Indigenous knowledge and raising awareness among younger generations about environmental and climate issues. It is a founding member of the Alliance of Guardians of Mother Nature.
