Planète Amazone
Planète Amazone
Founded in 2012, Planète Amazone is a French non-profit organization recognized for its commitment to Indigenous peoples and the preservation of primary forests. As the lead organization behind Amazonia, the Heart of Mother Earth, it oversees the project’s overall coordination, governance, and the executive production of the film bearing the same name.
Planète Amazone initiated the design of the impact project, which it develops as a tool for education, international mobilization, and advocacy for the recognition of Indigenous peoples’ rights and the protection of ecosystems. The first French NGO to advocate the recognition of ecocide as a crime, it has also urged European decision-makers to actively support the demarcation and effective protection of Indigenous lands in Brazil.
Active at major international summits, Planète Amazone also works toward the lasting transformation of educational systems, promoting the inclusion of Indigenous knowledge and raising awareness among younger generations about environmental and climate issues. It is a founding member of the Alliance of Guardians of Mother Nature.
