Arkan Simaan

A writer, historian of science, and agrégé in physics, Arkan Simaan is a Franco-Brazilian public intellectual with a long-standing commitment to human rights, social justice, and the defense of Indigenous Peoples. A co-founding member of Planète Amazone, he has supported the association since its beginnings, notably alongside the Cacique Raoni, with whom he took part as early as 2012 in the first educational initiatives aimed at young people.

Author of numerous works of popular science and critical essays, he now brings his expertise to the project Amazonia, the Heart of Mother Earth as an advisor on education and diplomacy. He also provides on-the-ground translation essential to intercultural dialogue between Indigenous representatives and their European counterparts. His bicultural background and steadfast commitment make him a valuable bridge between worlds.
