Magdalene Kaitei
A member of the Maasai community, Magdalene Setia Kaitei has been working for over fifteen years to defend the social and environmental rights of her people. As Executive Director of Emayian Integrated Development, she fights against land grabbing, abusive agricultural practices, and climate change in the Kajiado and Narok regions.
She supports the empowerment of communities — especially women and youth — and advocates development rooted in social justice. A member of the executive committee of the Alliance of Guardians of Mother Nature, she brings the voice of the Maasai people to the Amazonia, the Heart of Mother Earth project.
