Gert-Peter Bruch

Founder of the NGO Planète Amazone, Gert-Peter Bruch is a committed filmmaker who has worked for over 35 years alongside Indigenous peoples and for the protection of the Amazon rainforest. He is the executive producer of Amazonia, Heart of Mother Earth, which he wrote, co-directed with Princess Esmeralda of Belgium, and edited—drawing in part from his own archival footage.

He volunteered with Sting and Chief Raoni during their first international tour in 1989, and has since organized or managed communications for six of the great Amazonian defender’s international campaigns. A co-founder of the Alliance of Guardians of Mother Nature, he grounds his activism in a humanist and intergenerational approach.
